There are not many stories involving women in ancient scripture. When I read the story of Sariah in this Chapter I thought of how hard it must have been for this loving mother to send away all of her boys into a hostile environment. I love her testimony, bourn though doubt but faithful patience, of a prophets call and of the power of the Lord.
A mothers anxious heart drawn out in fear
Her precious boys are gone, will they return?
Raw questions for her husband as a seer
She mourned their loss, but faithfully she yearned
Rejoice exceedingly, she now has seen
Elated by the witness of his call
These stripling men return from where they’ve been
A mothers faith filled heart comforts them all
Great worth, the precious plates their hands have saved
Commandments for posterity engraved
